What is Embroidery?

Embroidery is the art of recreating an image in threads. Your design is re-interpretted through a process known as "digitizing" so that our machines can understand what stitch patterns and thread colours to lay down in order to build up a finished piece.

Embroidery is more durable than most other decoration techniques which is why it is more commonly used for workwear or corporate clothing. It also gives a more prestigeous look which often results in higher perceive value.

The limitations of embroidery are when it comes to smaller, more intricate designs.
Due to the nature of the process it can sometimes be particularly tricky when trying to replicate small, abstract typefaces so some artistic alterations may be required.

The Process

There are two basic steps to emboidery. The first, and most important step is to digitize the required design. The artwork must undergo a reinterpretation so that each part of the design can be accurately replicated in threads. The skill of our digitizers is to identify the best thread patterns to use in order to get a great finished piece.
The second step is to select the right thread colours and run a test swatch so that it can be approved before the complete run is actioned.
